Lisa Hunt: My Perfect Day

Lisa Hunt is a visual artist whose screen-printed works explore the meditative relationships of patterns.

The perfect day would be set to a Bossa Nova soundtrack in a sunny beach location. I’d wake up in a lush, king-sized bed in a sun-filled ocean view room, kiss my husband Kyle good morning and cuddle with our fur baby Sally! I would take an outdoor shower and meet them both for breakfast prepared by a chef (who also does the dishes!) on the deck. After breakfast we would take a walk through a garden filled with all of my favorite plants; anything with variant greens, vibrant colored flowers, succulents and tall old-growth trees.

Next is nap time as I lie in a hammock under a tree in the shade, drifting in and out of sleep and daydreams with the sound of birds chirping and the smell of fragrant flowers in the garden. After my nap I’d spend a few hours in my art studio immersed in my latest body of work. Then I’d have a light lunch before swimming in the ocean with Kyle for the rest of the day until the sun starts to set. I would have a very dirty martini on the beach just as the sun kisses the horizon. I’d have another outdoor shower before dinner and a seafood feast prepared by the chef. Kyle, Sally and I would finish the evening under the stars on the deck seated next to a fire pit with more cocktails and lots of laughter-filled conversation until we climb back into bed to sleep, dream, wake up and do it all again.
