1. A Knit Beanie
I have always felt like a little boy put into an enlarging machine!  Wearing a knit beanie somehow connects me to the simpler times of my childhood.

2. Denim
I love denim everything!!!! Denim clothes, denim shoes, denim furniture, denim housewares ... I love the simplicity, functionality and timelessness of denim.  It ALWAYS looks cool.

3. Scented Candles
Great scented candles can set the tone of a room (along with the energy of the humans in the room!).  I particularly love warm scents like vanilla, tobacco, rum, cedar, suede … and springy scents like grapefruit, freesia, mimosa, verbena and jasmine ... NATURE!!!!

4. Soulful House Music
Growing up in Detroit, I grew up listening to R&B, House and Gospel music.  Soulful house music blends all of those genres.  It is inspiring, uplifting, and ENERGIZING!  Nothing gets me more than a good Gospel wail over a strong house beat!

5. Mac 'n' Cheese
There is nothing more luscious, homey, and delectable than a good Southern baked mac 'n' cheese.

6. A Good, Oversized, Black T-Shirt
They work every season, with everything, for every occasion, in a multitude of ways!

7. Laughing
I love good humor and I love laughing with people I love.  I find it to be such a moment of bonding. There's a bit of vulnerability to laughing … much in the same way as crying. And vulnerability is so important to strong personal relationships.

8. Colorful Flowers: Hydrangea and Lilac!!!!
I have a dream to one day look out on my yard which is a sea of my favorite colorful flowers … all framed with gorgeous hydrangeas and lilac for fragrance!!!

Kindness Questionnaire

What does your perfect day look like?
My perfect day is in the country, in upstate NY. It starts with waking up to sunshine and blue skies and some of my friends who stayed the night. We get up, make a collective pancake breakfast, all get ready to go to the country fair or a big flea market. We end the day back at the house with a nice BBQ, some wine, and a ton of laughing! And cake ... there must be cake!

Best habit / worst habit

Quote that inspires you:

Let go and let God.

How do you celebrate others?
I let people know all the time how much I love and appreciate them.  I am very emotive so I hug, give compliments, say THANK YOU and try to make people feel special, because everyone in my life really is special to me! And I always tell people I love them!

How do you wind down?
I go work out at the gym (trying to knock off ridiculous amounts of Covid pounds) OR I go sit on my couch with my remote and Netflix and just submerge myself in another world.

Biggest life lesson learned during quarantine
Submerge myself in creativity.  It is a springboard, a place of solace, and a motivational tool.
